MRSA-I Mission Print E-mail

The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) is the oldest and largest life science membership organization with over 44,000 members throughout the world. Its members include those whose interests encompass basic and applied aspects of viruses, bacteria, rickettsiae, mycoplasma, fungi, algae and protozoa as well as other aspects of microbiology.

ASM’s mission is to promote education and research in the microbiological sciences and to encourage communication among scientists, physicians, policy makers, and the public to improve health and foster economic well-being.

Part of this mission is accomplished at the Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy (ICAAC), the world’s preeminent educational meeting for the infectious diseases community. Between 10,000 and 15,000 physicians, scientists, researchers, and other healthcare professionals attend ICAAC to exchange information and learn about solutions to the problem of increasing resistance and the consequences for human, animal, and environmental health.

Content from MRSA-I will be prominently featured at the future ASM events.
